Ukraine: Commission of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade distributed grain export quotas in January-March, 2011

During the meeting on January 11, 2011, the Commission of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine completely distributed quotas for grain exports from the territory of the country among Ukrainian enterprises-exporters, stated the Press-service of the Ukrainian Agrarian Confederation.
According to Sergey Stoyanov, the General Director of the Ukrainian Agrarian Confederation, during the voting the representative of the Ukrainian Agrarian Confederation did not vote, due to the fact that other Commission members did not support the offer to prolong applications acceptance by the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade till January 14, due to the fact that the range of the enterprises were not able to receive the conclusion issued by the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food during the period of January 4-6, which confirms that the entrepreneur has the agricultural products volume, stated in the application, and till the end of the working day of January 6, to introduce applications for quotas receiving.
At the same time (and it is stated in the protocol of the Commission session), it is probably will be resort for the “rejected ones” the fact that during the nearest days there will be introduced the offer to the Government for additional grain export quotas distribution, almost all surplus carry-over stocks.
According to data of the Ukrainian Agrarian Confederation, the surplus (excluding just distributed volumes) is estimated at the level of 5 mln tonnes, meanwhile as of 01.07.2011 grain carry-over stocks will also total the level of 5 mln tonnes, which is almost at the level of 01.07.2010 carry-over stocks. And it is without taking into account the possible incoming on the balance of 2010/11 MY till July 1, 2011, of grain harvest-2011 (barley and wheat). During the last years so pre-schedule volumes form the level of 1-1.5 mln tonnes, stated Sergey Stoyanov, the General Director of the Ukrainian Agrarian Confederation.
